HIGHLIGHTS OF INITIATIVES

GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme

To encourage the public to participate in clean recycling, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) launched the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme (GREEN$ ePIS) in November 2020, and rolled out the GREEN$ mobile app in January 2022. Members of the public can gain GREEN$ points when they carry out recycling through GREEN$ at the community recycling network GREEN@COMMUNITY and EPD’s smart recycling devices for gift redemption. The EPD will further enhance the GREEN$ ePIS, aiming to implement full digitalisation of gift redemption in April 2026. Through connecting with more reward platforms, the GREEN$ ePIS will offer more convenient and diverse choices of gifts to encourage more public participation in recycling. The GREEN$ ePIS has been well received by the public, with nearly 1.1 million registered users so far.
